All I Have is Christ

As I hear this song being rehearsed for a future service, I enjoy the sound of music through the house. In hearing this song, I think of the past few months and wonder what exactly happened. Some, actually many days, I wondered where we were headed and how we would get there. The ride has been amazing.

I am brought back over the years as I listen. The stories of great victory, the testimony of the mysterious and miraculous works of God, the answered prayers, the cries of pain. In every case, we are brought to a point that all we have is Christ, He is our ALL in ALL.

I am reminded of those that are lonely, young and old, particularly the ones that don’t know Him. It is then I am not only thankful for our Savior, but also for our church. A church where the support and care for each other in Christ reigns through our congregation not just inside the walls, but outside, where it really matters. That’s what makes us unique. It’s the genuine care and love for each other. A place where each person desires to know you.

In another month, we will be celebrating the victory Jesus had over death on our behalf. May we not take that glorious gift for granted, but savor it. And may those that have not yet received that gift be surrounded by those that would encourage them to find their path in following the one true God.
