The SPY Balloon
All over the news lately is the spy balloon that has been moving from west to east across the US. It passed close by, near Kansas City. Some would say that is too close for comfort. Everyone has an opinion on what to do with it. I have read all of the theories on what is it doing and why the CCP would send it.
When it comes down to it, people don’t like the idea of someone spying on them. We want to live peaceful, private lives. But the balloon and the reaction to it made me think of how God is omniscient, meaning that He knows everything. We can run and hide, but yet He is still there. When we think of the Lord in that way, it makes us look inward with conviction and hopefully repentance. If that were not enough, I was reminded of Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (NKJV) “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.”
I am so thankful that we serve a merciful and gracious God, who has taken the penalty that we deserve for those that call Him Lord. Romans 10:9 (ESV) “… if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” What wonderful news!!!
We can debate the CCP’s intent and what the balloon means for our future. But the believer’s future is assured, victory is imminent, Jesus wins!
